Pray!!

To everyone who actually still reads this thing I want to ask that you all would please pray for my sister, Nisha.  She is having major skull surgery on Wednesday that will help to reshape her head.  I would also appreciate your prayers for me because as long as Nisha is in ICU it will just be me, Zack, Tim , Tamara, and Fulmaya at home together and I will be in charge of everything.  Thanks a lot I will update as soon as I know anything.

In Christ,
Abby

*Update*

Nisha is doing fine. they didn't get done exactly what I thought they would get done, but apparently they got a lot done.  Please continue to pray for her as she has about a week left in the hospital.
Also the little boy that my family is adopting is going to be here in a couple weeks.  Dad was supposed to go down on Sunday, but we asked them to redue the date because of Nishas surgery and now they have pushed it back a week.  So yeah that is exciting but nerve wracking at the same time.  It is weird to think that there will be a little boy in the house in a couple weeks.

Hey I decided that I should update.  I can't believe that school is getting ready to start.  I decided to post about when I went to Mexico.

This is the huge cross that we pass by every year on the way there and back.  I just think it is really neat.

We left at 6a.m. on July 22nd.  We travel all day and at about 9 p.m. we will reach the El Paso/Juarez border.

I have seen this sign every year and I decided this year to get a picture of it.

Once we cross the border we have to travel through Juarez until we get to the orphanage where we stay the whole week.

This year we actually went to church in the Mexican church attached to the orphanage.  It was really neat even though I couldn't understand most of what they said. After that we worked on getting the VBS  stuff ready for the next day.

This is Adreana and she stays at the orphanage year round because he mom is one of the cooks. So on Sunday she helped us get all the crafts set up for the next week.  She understands English and can speak it even though she doesn't like to, but she is really helpful when it comes to trying to figure out what all the kids are saying.

Every morning (mon - thur) we would go out to the colonias and do a VBS out there.  It was really cute because the first day there were hardly any kids there, so when Ellen started reading the story they all crowded up around her so they could see the book.

These are two of my favorite kids from the first VBS.  There names are Kevin and Paola.  They lived right next to the church and while we were doing music they came up and stuck their faces to the window and watched us.  A couple minutes later there mom brought them in and they loved it.

This was my favorite  older kid of the whole week.  His name is Jorge and they first day they painted t-shirts as the craft and he asked on of the college students to write Escuilita Biblica, Americanos Aqui. Which translated says Bible School, Americans here. And he wore it around the neighborhood that day and the next promoting our Bible school.

I will have to update more once I get more pictures uploaded.  Because this is just a few of the pictures I took.

In Christ,
Abby

Prayer

HEy this is going to be short because I have to go to bed.  I leave for Mexico tommorow at 6 in the morning.  If everyone could please pray for the week and that everyone will stay safe I'd appreciate it.

I'll miss ya,
Abby

Hey!!

This will be my last post for awhile because I leave for camp tomorrow.  It is going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait.  If you could just pary for our week that it would go smoothly, because we will be taking over 60 people and that is a lot of people.  Also that everyone who goes will be open to what God has to teach them.  And just for me to because I know now that there is one person going who I can not stand because he is a total flirt with some of the other girls and it is so obvious.  I know that he is probably not a Christian, so you could pray that he will become one.  Thanks a lot and I will miss you all and I'll try to update when I get home on what happened.

Luv ya,
Abby

Work

Tomorrow I start my first real day of work.  I am a sacker (or courtesy clerk) at the Albertsons on Robinson.  I had work on Saturday, but it was just the orientation.  Those were the longest 4 1/2 hours of my life.  But because I am working from 1-5 I will not be able to go to v-ball practice tomorrow.  Sadness!! ;(  But i will see most of you on Saturday at the sports banquet.  We need to get together some this summer and just hang out. Anyway I got to go.

In Christ,
~Avy~

*Update

I can't go to the sports banquet because I will be working.  Sadness!! I work from 11-4 on Saturday, but there was nothing I could do about it.  Hopefully I will see some of you Saturday night at Mrs. Webb's Party.
